Stephen Christian, mostly known for his upbeat Gospel music, recently released an album called Wildfires. This singer is from Kalamazoo, Missouri. Very rarely do I like an entire album, but this one I do. Stephen Christian has a beautiful voice that only adds to the beautiful words. This album takes familiar words or phrases and adds an upbeat, pop feel to them. My favorite song on the album is “Atmosphere.” This song is a slower song. It gives us a beautiful reminder that God’s presence is always around us. No matter what we do, God is always there for us, forgiving our sins. This song is a powerful one that brings you into a mind of worship when you listen to it. If you’re looking for powerful worship music or just something to jam in the car to, then this is the album for you.
Seventh Day Slumber is a Christian rock group founded in Dallas, Texas. They recently released the single “Found.” It has a prodigal-son type of feel. This song recaps the life of someone who has lost it all. Then, in the turmoil, the person finally realizes God has always been there. This song rings true to so many of us. We often don’t acknowledge God until we’re at our lowest point. My favorite section of the song is, “So I’ll cherish the old rugged Cross/ Till my trophies at last I lay/ I will cling to the old rugged cross/ And exchange it someday for a crown.” These lines are the final proclamation that the person is gladly taking on their burdens and pains because one day they will be exchanged for a place in Heaven. This song is a great sound of testimony.
