WHAT’S SOCIAL

I spent some time researching different positional statements and found this resource from the College for Officer Training in New York: http://www.tsacfotny.edu/library/pdfs/intlSpiritualLifeCommissionReport.pdf. In the statement, Salvationists are encouraged to rejoice in the freedom to “celebrate Christ’s real presence at all meals and in all meetings” and to “explore the significance of the simple meals shared by Jesus and the first Christians.” We can do this by participating in fellowship or “love feasts.”

Read the article and ask you corps officer if you can plan a “love feast” at your corps! You may already have some sort of fellowship meal, but take time to understand the hallowing of meals and how important they can be as a remembrance of the Lord’s sacrificial love.
